From July 12, companies will not be able to copy our documents. This mainly applies to identity cards, passports, driving licenses, vehicle cards or ID cards. Thus, from July 12, a penalty of up to two years in prison will be punished for making a copy of the public document. And all thanks to the vacatio legis from the Act of November 22, 2018, coming into force after six months, on public documents (Journal of Laws, item 53). Doubts arise from the copying of documents by banks or insurance companies, which refer to the Directive on preventing the use of the financial system for money laundering and the recommendations of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority. It should be noted that the Act does not provide for exceptions.
